2009 Games Come to a Close

Sat Oct 17, 2009

Saturday, October 17, 2009 saw the 23rd edition of the Huntsman World Senior Games come to a close.  Bowling and Volleyball finished out the day and the book was closed on yet another event.

“I think this has been one of the best Games ever,” commented Kyle M Case, Games CEO. “Things seemed to go pretty smoothly all the way through.”

This year’s event offered 26 different sport, including Shooting, which was introduced in 2009.  The Opening Ceremonies, produced by Diamond Talent and the Concert & Celebration featuring the Flying Karamazov Brothers both played for large crowds and entertained those who attended.

The Global Cup – World Senior Volleyball Championships featured one of the greatest come-backs in Games history with Canada wading through 5 matches in the consolation brackets to finally upset Russia in a single “if” game to 25.

The Legends once again amassed a winning number of points in the Challenge with a total of 620.  Games, National and even a few World Records fell this year.

Over the next several weeks, the Games will post “Rewind” features of this year’s event, celebrating the 23rd year of the Huntsman World Senior Games.

The dates for the 2010 Huntsman World Senior Games are October 4 – 16, 2010.  All who participated this year are invited to come back… and bring a friend.
